News Catch-up 09 June 2022

Welcome back everybody. I know that we usually start these off by saying that we 'have some very exciting upcoming releases to discuss', but we'll be darned if it isn't always true. Today, of course, is no exception! It's a Reissue Spectacular!!!

Following on from the reissue of their first two albums, Slipknot are dropping a violet coloured double LP reissue of their third studio album, Vol 3: The Subliminal Verses. Originally released in 2004, The Subliminal Verses contained the singles, Duality, Vermilion and Before I Forget. The album was notable for seeing the band's intergration of compeling riffs and more melodic styles. It marked a new chapter for Slipknot and helped them on an onward projection that has not slowed down in the almost 20 years since its initial release.

Now let's be honest: the King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard catalogue is ever-expanding and showing no signs of slowing down. That, and the myriad of variations already released can make the mind boggle when trying to keep track of them all, let alone collect them! But as King Gizz fans all know: there will never be enough!

Fortunately for those fans, we have a brand new release of I'm In Your Mind Fuzz coming out this June. This special audiophile edition is cut at 45 RPM and will be released across two 180gm black vinyl discs - all of it wrapped with a fancy new OBI strip.

It is hard to believe that 2012 was already ten years ago, let alone that Bruno Mars' 2012 album Unorthodox Jukebox is marking its tenth anniversary this year! Yet here we are. And that is exactly what is happening later this June. Bruno Mars' Unorthodox Jukebox is being re-released for its tenth anniversary as a limited red coloured vinyl LP. Originally released as Mars' second studio album, Unorthodox Jukebox was not only the #1 album in Australia upon release, but was also the winner of the Best Pop Vocal Album at the 56th Grammy Awards.

The Rolling Stones. Enough said, right?

OK, we'll say just a bit more: a limited edition box set collecting authentic reproductions of the London and Decca singles and EP's that were released between 1963 and 1966.

Yeah, that's right. This set will contain eighteen 7'' 45 RPM vinyl discs; as well as a 32-page book with liner notes by The Rolling Stones researcher Nigel Williamson; five photo cards and a full-colour poster. Tracks collected in this set include 19th Nervous Breakdown, (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, Get Off Of My Cloud, Not Fade Away and I Wanna Be Your Man (written for the Stones by their good friends The Beatles). This is the first time that these discs have been reissued and collected in one box set, and look out later in the year for volume two!

Well, that's is for the Reissue Spectacular today. We'll be back in just a few days with even more upcoming releases!
