Future Jazz aka Nu Jazz is the combination of jazz and electronic music and is said to have originated in the early 1990s with such artists like Bugge Wesseltoft, Jaga Jazzist, Nils Petter Molvær being the noteables in the genre. The genre still maintains some popularity today with artists such as Flying Lotus & Thundercat still releasing records with tracks classified as Future Jazz and reaching audiences worldwide. The sound is often described as electronic sounds with ethereal jazz blended throughout.
