Welcome back all. We have a very special release to talk about today: The Doors Live At The Matrix 1967: The Original Masters.

Although recordings from the Matrix performances have been released in the past (including as Record StoreDay exclusives in 2017 and 2018), previous releases were sourced from third-generation, incomplete tapes. Over the years, more tracks have been recovered - all from The Matrix' co-owner Peter Abram's original, first-generation master tapes. These have now been carefully remastered by The Doors' longtime engineer, Bruce Botnick.

The recordings from the The Matrix club represent a formative time for The Doors. In fact, it would still be months before Light My Fire would project the band onto the world stage and begin their successful career in full. The Matrix performances depict a band still in the midst of their formative period. Or, as acclaimed music critic Joel Selvin in the album's liner notes: “They were young, fresh, and uninhibited, spreading their wings to fly. The tapes are raw, savage, rough around the edges. This is pure Doors: unselfconscious and unspoiled.”

Collected on the 5 LPs are the three set that the band performed on the 7th of March, as well as both sets from the 10th of March - all up comprising no less than 37 tracks (8 of which have never been available on any official release).

The bonus 7'' disc is exclusive to this set and contains the instrumental jazz track Bag's Groove, recorded on the 7th of March.

The 2nd half of the year continues to heat up, as we have also recieved word of the upcoming 10th album from The Chemical Brothers!

For That Beautiful Feeling was recorded in the band's own studio and promises a musical atmosphere of love and captivating wonder. It will be released as a double LP and is scheduled to hit shelves later in September.

The Chemical Brothers For That Beautiful Feeling 2 LP is available to pre-order HERE.

Also coming in the latter half of 2023, is a special picture disc edition of Eric Carr's Rockology.

Originally released in 1999, Rockology contained tracks that ex-KISS drummer Carr was working on before his untimely death in 1991. Some of the tracks -  including Somebody's Waiting and Eyes Of Love - were originally intended to be used on KISS albums. It was ex-KISS guitarist, Bruce Kulick who completed the album for its initial release.

It wasn't until Record Store Day of this year, that Rockology recieved a limited vinyl release; this time bearing a cover designed by Eric's sister, Loretta Carr, and intended to fall in line as the 5th KISS solo album.

This new picture disc edition contains that design (as well as a new remaster overseen by Loretta Carr) and is limited to 4000 copies. It will also include a 12 x 24 cm poster.

Eric Carr Rockology picture disc edition is available to pre-order HERE.

Last, but not least, we have news about TISM's re-release of their 3rd studio album: Machiavellie And The Four Seasons.

This new version of the album will be pressed on gold marble vinyl and is limited to 750 copies.

There is also word about an expanded 4 LP box set edition of this album scheduled to release next year, but we will cover that version once we have more details. For now, take care, and we will be back soon with more upcoming goodies!
