News Catch-up 20 August 2023

Welcome back everyone. There are some extremely nifty new releases coming out over the next few months, and we can't wait to tell you all about them... however, we thought we'd take a little side-step today and tell you all about the recently announced box set that is incoming.

It's always wonderful to celebrate an anniversary isn't it? And 30 years is certainly a milestone one at that! Well, get excited becase we are nearing the 30th anniversary of Green Day's Dookie, and to celebrate, we are being presented with a special edition 6 LP box set!

Originally released in 1994, Dookie was Green Day's 3rd studio album and was instantly applauded for being a pop-punk masterpiece. Even today, it is still regarded, not only for it's influence over the genre, but also as a defining album of the 1990's.

This special box set includes 6 LPs - all pressed on different varieties of (ahem) brown-coloured vinyl. As well as a remastered version of the original studio album, there will also be a special 'demo' album which will include a variety of 4-track, as well as cassette demo recordings from the early days of the album's inception. There will also be a disc comprised of rare outtakes from the studio sessions.

Finishing out the set will be 2 live recordings from 1994. The 1st of these is the legendary Woodstock '94 recording (original released on vinyl for Record Store Day 2019); with the 2nd being Live in Barcelona 1994 - all 17 tracks of which are previouly unreleased.
