Welcome back everyone. We've going to be focusing on something very special for Joni Mitchel fans today. No less than six of her iconic albums are getting the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab treatment and will be hitting our shelves in the (hopefully) not-too-distant future.

Ladies Of The Canyon, Blue, For The Roses, Court And Spark, The Hissing Of Summer Lawns, and Hejira will be available as MFSL Ultradisc vinyl box sets, as well as MFSL high-quality SACDs.

For those who don't know, the process behind the 'MFSL vinyl treatment' consists of the original analog tapes being transfered in a 'One-Step' process to lathe, and then having the discs pressed at the legendary RTI pressing plant. The discs themselves are cut at 45RPM and pressed on Mobile Fidelity's trademark SuperVinyl. For the CD versions, the transfers of the original analog tapes are mastered and pressed on Mobile Fidelity's Super Audio CDs.

In summary: these releases are going to sound amazing.

Ladies Of The Canyon first released in 1970, and, although it was Mitchell's third studio album, many regard it as the record where the folk rock singer/songwriter really found her voice. The album contains two of Mitchell's best-known songs; Woodstock and Big Yellow Taxi.

Blue came out in 1971 and featured a 10-track musical journey written and produced entirely by Joni Mitchell herself. Many regard Blue as not only Mitchell's best album, but one of the best albums of all time. It features consistently on 'Greatest Album' lists and most recently, peaked at number 1 on iTunes for its 50th anniversary.

For many, Blue is the album most anticipated amongst the new MFSL lineup, and from the sounds of it, the new transfer has hit the right mark, as, according to the official MFSL description: "Everything about Blue sounds more intimate, involving, and inescapable on this transparent pressing, which benefits from a virtually nonexistent noise floor and superior groove definition... The defenselessness the singer once spoke about is laid bare here like never before."

For The Roses was Mitchell's 1972 studio album and featured the single, You Turn Me On, I'm A Radio. Overall. the album contained more of a jazz vibe alongside Mitchell's trademark folk rock sound. Met with critical acclaim upon release, For The Roses eventually went on to be added to the National Recording Registry by the Library Of Congress in 2007.

Court And Spark released in 1974 and saw the completion of Mitchell's musical transition into jazz rock. It was another critical success for the musician, and eventually went on to become double platinum.

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns came out in 1975 and proved to be another success for Mitchell. Although it did not contain and hit singles, it did continue Mitchell's jazz rock sound, but this time, incorporating early synthesizer sounds and experimental sampling techniques. Years later, Prince would claim his love for The Hissing Of Summer Lawns, claiming it was "the last album I loved all the way through".

Hejira was Mitchell's 1976 album, and the final in our MFSL lineup. It continued Mitchell's (now trademark) folk-jazz sound and, although it not reach the commercial highs like her previous five albums, it did contain the hit single, Coyote.
