Ordering

All orders must be paid for when your place your order.  The web site system we use does not enable us to put a hold on funds and charge those funds to you when we dispatch the goods.

 

Delivery Times - COVID-19

Please note, typical delivery times are likely to take longer than usual due to COVID-19.  In particular deliveries to WA/regional locations which previously took around a week after despatch to arrive can now take up to 2 weeks to arrive.  Please check with Australia Post for specific information relating to your area.

We are currently not offering an express service, except where you order 4 or more in one transaction (Ts & Cs apply, find out more here

 

Order processing times and despatch

Orders for titles marked "in stock - typically ships in 24 hours" are titles stocked in our warehouse and will generally be despatched within 1 working day (*). **Due to increased volume and lockdown restrictions at present, in stock titles have an estimated dispatch time frame of 1 to 7 days.

Orders for titles marked "7 days dispatch" and "typically ships in 1 week" are titles held by our suppliers and are ordered in and generally despatched within a week (*).

Orders for titles marked "10 days dispatch" and "typically ships in 2 weeks" are titles our suppliers indicate are in stock, and are ordered in and generally dispatched within 2 - 3 weeks (*).

Orders for titles marked "14 days dispatch" and "typically ships in 3 - 4 weeks" are titles our suppliers indicate are in stock, and are ordered in and generally dispatched within 3 - 4 weeks (*).

Orders for titles marked "6 - 8 weeks" and "typically ships in 6 - 8 weeks" are titles our suppliers indicate are available to order, and are ordered in and generally dispatched within 6-8 weeks (*).

Orders for titles marked "pre-order" are pre-order titles and will be dispatched once received; generally on or around the release date shown (*). There may be production or transit delays.

(*) PLEASE NOTE: if you place an order with different processing times the longer of all the times will apply to your entire order. If you order with express shipping this does not mean the time it takes us to dispatch your order is reduced, rather this shortens the time it will take your order to reach you once dispatched.

PLEASE NOTE: we reserve the right to cancel orders for any reason, including but not limited to errors in relation to listing details and price.

 

Discrepancy Records uses Australia Post for all deliveries. The majority of our orders are sent with tracking and must be signed for. You are now able to choose to grant authority to leave during checkout without the postie obtaining a signature if you wish; granting authority to leave without a signature is at your own risk. Please note you MUST select this option during the checkout process if you want this, or the parcel will be sent as requiring a signature. It is possible Australia Post may deem it unsafe to leave a parcel at your address even if you do select this option, in which case they will take your order to the local post office.

Once your order has been processed you will receive a notification of dispatch email with the tracking number. This tracking number will be activated at around 5pm of the business day the email was sent. If you received your email after 3pm on a Friday, then tracking may not be activated until 5pm on the following Monday.

It is your responsibility to check your tracking and advise us immediately of any parcel stated as delivered which you have not received.

 

Pickup

15/07/21 PICKUP HAS BEEN SUSPENDED FOR THE CURRENT LOCKDOWN PERIOD. You will not be able to select this in the checkout. Please place your order for delivery instead.

Once the lockdown is over and we are able to we will resume this service.

Most orders are shipped using Australia Post's eParcel service.  This includes tracking and if this service is used for your order we will email you the tracking number.  You can use this to track your order on the Aus Post web site.  Some smaller orders, like CDs and 7" records will be sent regular post (this service is not tracked).

PLEASE NOTE: Most overseas orders are sent with a reference number, generally this is not a tracking number.  Some items will be sent using Australia Post's Pack & Track service (this is not available to all countries), this service is fully trackable.  Some items will be sent using registered post - this is NOT a service which is trackable within Australia, however often you will find you can track this on your local postal services web site after around 10 days from the date of dispatch. 

**The below time frames are the usual dispatch time frames. During Covid there are many interruptions in postal and courier services, which may mean things take longer than indicated below.

You can generally expect to receive your order as follows:

- Melbourne metro locations; within a working day of dispatch

- Sydney metro locations; within 2 to 3 working days of dispatch

- Brisbane and Adelaide locations; within 4 to 5 working days of dispatch

- all other regional and country locations; between 7 and 14 working days from dispatch.  The longer period only applies to Far North and remote locations.

Overseas can typically take between 2 to 3 weeks to arrive.  Service to the UK is generally quite quick and can arrive in around a week, which is often the case for other countries around Europe.  Service to the US generally takes around 2 weeks.

If you do not receive your order within the specified timeframe please first check your tracking information, where provided, check with your local post office as often they can hold shipments and occaionally not notify the recipient.  If you need any additional help please contact us.

 

Pre-orders

Please note pre-orders must be paid for and are charged in advance of release and shipping.  We do not take reservations on pre-order titles due to previous experience with customer cancellations and being left with unsellable stock.  You may at any time cancel any order for a pre-order title by providing notification to us by email (please include your order number).

Placing a pre-order does not guarantee that you will receive the title ordered.  Titles may be delayed, cancelled, or short delivered, or may otherwise become unavailable for other reasons.  Should the title become unavailable you will be offered an equivalent alternative of the same or lesser price, or a refund or credit of your payment on your Discrepancy Record account.

We reserve the right to limit pre-orders where we do not receive enough stock to satisfy all orders placed for that title.

 

Record Store Day "RSD" Event and Orders Instore and Online

Discrepancy Records participates in the annual event called Record Store Day.  There are specific restrictions regarding the sale of RSD titles which include that these titles may not be sold prior to the event, reserved or held over for sale.  Additionally all sales are limited to 1 copy per person.  Instore we may refuse to sell RSD titles where we believe the same person has already bought the title from us previously instore or online.  Where an RSD title is sold online for the avoidance of doubt a person is defined as someone using an email address at a physical location.  As such we reserve the right to cancel orders where more than 1 copy of a title has been ordered for delivery to the same physical address and/or ordered using the same email address.

Any order placed in violation of RSD rules/regulations and our policies relating to RSD products is subject to cancellation.  The refund of the payment made for these orders is subject to our Refund and Cancellation policy.  Fees will be deducted from any refund as stated in the Refund and Cancellation policy.

 

Change Of Address

Please note we will not change the address on any order placed using Paypal as a payment method.  If you want to change your address where you used other payment method some restrictions apply, please contact us to confirm prior to your order being shipped.

 

Orders Placed To Freight Forwarding Addresses

All orders placed by overseas buyers, or anyone in Australia, will be cancelled.  We do not dispatch orders to freight forwarders.

 

International orders

We do not currently offer an international service due to COVID-19 delays and restrictions.

United Arab Emirates/Dubai customers - you must choose Express Courier International for your order otherwise it will be cancelled.

There is no change of mind for overseas (non-Australian) orders.

The full value of your order is stated on the customs declaration. We have no control over any customs/duty/sales tax charges you may have to pay for your order when it enters your country, these are your responsibility and are not refundable by us. All overseas orders are subject to customs procedures within the country of purchase, this may affect the delivery time. Express Courier is not guaranteed.

If your order is returned due to not being collected or refused for non payment of taxes/duty it will be subject to a $35 or 10% of order value (which ever is greater) plus outbound shipping charge and re-stocking fees, or if you wish it to be resent you will need to pay for reposting (even if the original postage was included) - outside AU this will range $20-30 regardless of the initial postage cost, this amount must be paid before your order is re-shipped to you.
