Pet Shop Boysà 1988 release æIntrospectiveà has sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide to date and was the first to feature production by Trevor Horn, whose lavish orchestrations marked a new sonic direction for PSB. House Music legend, Frankie Knuckles created the mix of ôI want a dogö while ôDomino dancingö was recorded in Miami with hit producer Lewis MartinÎe. æIntrospectiveà also saw Pet Shop Boys introduce a new approach to the format of an album and its respective singles: each of the 6 tracks on the albumÃs original track-listing is over six minutes in length, and they were later edited to fit the more traditional format of a seven-inch single. ôThe idea was to have an album where every track was a single. And in fact five out of the six of them were, because æIÃm not scaredà was a single for Patsy Kensit, or rather for her group Eighth Wonderö, says Neil Tennant.

Pet Shop Boys & Trevor Horn = Heaven.
2 November 2019Introspective is Pet Shop Boys' biggest selling LP. Neil Tennant, in a speech he gave to the Oxford Union, said that he regretted releasing Introspective so soon after Actually as he felt that the 12-inch nature of the songs may have put some fans off the band and that this probably impacted on the sales of Behaviour, the subsequent album which is critically regarded as the Pet Shop Boys' finest album, but commercially is one of their least successful. As with all other 180g remaster / reissues of Pet Shop Boys catalogue, the packaging and pressing are pure perfection.
