Pet Shop Boys

Pet Shop Boys

The Pet Shop Boys are an English synth-pop duo formed in London in 1981. When they first met, Neil Tennant was a music journalist and Chris Lowe an architecture student. As a songwriting team their unique blend of dance-oriented pop music and clever, ironic lyrics set them apart from their early 1980s contemporaries.

Their debut single "West End Girls" became a massive hit in 1985, topping the charts in several countries and earning them a Grammy award. They went on to release numerous hit singles throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including "It's a Sin," "Always on My Mind," and "Go West."

Over the years, the Pet Shop Boys have continued to develop their sound, incorporating elements of house, techno, and other dance genres into their music. They have released 14 studio albums to date, and continue to be a popular live act around the world.

The Pet Shop Boys are widely regarded as one of the most influential and innovative pop acts of the past four decades, and their music remains as fresh and relevant today as it was when they first burst onto the scene in the early 1980s.
