Brian Eno

Brian Eno

Leaving Roxy Music after their second album, Brian Eno’s career moved in several different directions. His first solo album was Here Come The Warm Jets, followed by a number of LPs demonstrating his restless quest for interesting sounds to enrich his art-rock creations. Another Green World (1975) is a standout, though fans would say all the albums are interesting and entertaining. (They’re right). Eno’s next direction was to bring elements of minimalism into the popular domain via his seminal work Music For Airports. The term ‘ambient music’ is often attached to this style, which Eno has continued to explore though the years, including 2018’s expansive Music For Installations. His 2022 album FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE is a song-based album, exploring issues of climate and the environment.

The other areas of Eno’s musical life that must be mentioned are his production credits (U2, Coldplay and others) and his collaborations. In the latter category, a huge range of albums await exploration, including work with David Byrne, Robert Fripp, David Bowie, Cluster and many others. A deep thinker and major contributor to music, Brian Peter George St John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno is a genuine icon.
