Chick Corea

Any jazz career lasting six decades (and counting) must be classed as iconic. Such is the life in music of Chick Corea, whose early piano albums brought him attention within jazz circles and led to him joining Miles Davis for the Bitches Brew sessions. Corea became interested in the melding of jazz and rock, and produced popular and hugely entertaining albums such as Light As A Feather and Hymn Of The Seventh Galaxy (with Return To Forever). The GRP label released a number of Chick Corea jazz-rock albums in the 80s and 90s, featuring him in both acoustic and electric settings. Corea has toured with Herbie Hancock, vibist Gary Burton, and several versions of Return To Forever. The Corea album confusingly entitled Return To Forever (the one with the seabird) is one of the finest on the legendary jazz label ECM.
