Deep Purple

Surviving the turbulent rock and roll life over many decades often results in personnel changes, and that is certainly true of Deep Purple, icons of heavy rock. The Mark II line-up is the most famous, boasting the electrifying tonsils of Ian Gillian, Jon Lord’s potent organ and the guitar fireworks of Ritchie Blackmore. This on top of a rock solid foundation provided by Roger Glover and Ian Paice. With classic 70s albums such as Fireball and Machine Head, Deep Purple built a huge world-wide following; their powerful live sound is thrillingly captured on Made In Japan. Amazingly, Deep Purple have powered into the twenty-first century with a revitalised band including guitarist Steve Morse (Dixie Dregs) and veteran keyboard player Don Airey. Their 2020 LP Whoosh! has received praise from both fans and critics.
