Harry Styles

Between 2011 and 2015 boy band One Direction released five hugely successful albums and played to hordes of adoring fans around the world. Singer/Songwriter Harry Styles embarked on a solo career after 1D went into cryogenic storage in 2016 following the departure of Zayn Malik.

The Styles song style includes huge swirls of classic rock influences, including The Beatles, Queen and Elton John. Styles has also noted his admiration for American songwriter Harry Nilsson. It’s an updated pop-rock sound that has delighted millions who might only know those legendary names via their grandparents.

All three Harry Styles albums have hit the top of the charts in Australia and the US. His singles output has been equally outstanding, with "As it was" being a #1 almost everywhere. That song combines emotion and energy in a way that typifies Styles’ approach to songwriting. The visuals are important too, both for storytelling and as an expression of his particular identity. If you don’t know Harry or his music, try any of his albums and warm up with the video of "Adore you".
