Keane

Keane

Keane is a British band that rose to prominence in the early 2000s with their distinctive brand of piano-driven alternative rock. Formed in East Sussex in 1995, the band consists of Tom Chaplin (vocals), Tim Rice-Oxley (piano, keyboards, vocals), Richard Hughes (drums), and Jesse Quin (bass, keyboards, vocals).

Keane's music is characterized by its emotive melodies, introspective lyrics, and lush arrangements. At the heart of their sound is Rice-Oxley's piano, which serves as a focal point for their compositions. Their debut album, "Hopes and Fears" (2004), catapulted them to international fame, featuring hits like "Somewhere Only We Know" and "Everybody's Changing."

Subsequent albums, including "Under the Iron Sea" (2006) and "Perfect Symmetry" (2008), showcased the band's evolution and experimentation with different musical styles while maintaining their signature sound.

Despite a hiatus in the late 2010s, Keane's impact on the British music scene remains significant, and their melodic anthems continue to resonate with audiences worldwide.
