Paul Simon

After separating from singing partner Art Garfunkel, Paul Simon went solo, releasing albums that displayed his prowess as a master of pop songwriting. Simon balances portraits of the human condition with abstract ideas and intellectual concerns, making each record an adventure in lyric and melody.

While the hugely successful Still Crazy After All These Years (1975) and Graceland (1986) are rightly celebrated, there are many gems in the Simon songbook, not least the first two early 70s releases, Paul Simon and There Goes Rhymin’ Simon. The man who gave us "Bridge over troubled waters" and "Sounds of silence" did not stop writing, and later LPs such as So Beautiful Or So What and Hearts And Bones are well worth checking out.
