Roger Waters

Roger Waters

Roger Waters was part of the original quartet who formed Pink Floyd. After the departure of Syd Barrett, the band morphed into the progressive rock giants of Dark Side Of The Moon and The Wall. Waters was the driving force in the latter years of Floyd, exerting such a powerful control over the band that they eventually split amongst accusations and acrimony.

Waters has had a very successful solo career, with a number of well regarded albums including Amused To Death and Radio K.A.O.S., yet it is Floyd’s Wall and Waters touring versions of this work that have made him a legend of the rock stage as well as a byword for protest against undemocratic or fascist governments. Roger, for instance, is not a big fan of the reality TV star turned US President, and has been known to adorn the Animals floating pig with derogatory comments. Is This The Life We Really Want?, Waters' first solo album in 25 years, was released in 2017 while his 50th anniversary re-recording (re-imagining?) of Dark Side Of The Moon came out in October 2023.
