The Who

The Who

Formed in 1964, The Who were one of the biggest bands of the 60's, not to mention being trend-setting London role models for the Mod movement. Later that decade they played an incendiary set at the legendary 1969 Woodstock Festival, featuring selections from the recently released rock opera Tommy. The Who have proved to be one of the biggest - not to mention biggest selling! - rock bands of the 20th century.

Between 1983 and 1996 there were brief reunion shows between active solo careers, particularly those of vocalist Roger Daltry and chief songwriter Pete Townshend. The two surviving Who figures continued to release records, including 2019's Who. From the concept albums Tommy and Quadrophenia, to the roaring live sets Live At Leeds and Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970, The Who's legacy is here discover and enjoy.

Recommendations: Tommy, Who's Next. Itis also vital to remember that The Who were an outstanding singles band, so the compilation Who Hits is a ripper!
