AC/DC

There’s a classic story about one of the Young brothers being interviewed regarding a new AC/DC album. Haven’t you—enquired the interviewer—released twelve albums all exactly the same? The musician was outraged. Twelve? he fumed, it’s THIRTEEN albums all the same!

How to explain the timeless magnetism of these Australian heavy rock behemoths? Consistency is certainly part of it. Fans know exactly what they are getting: pummelling blues-rock littered with killer riffs and adolescent lyrics... check out the stage outfit of Angus Young, guitarist and eternal schoolboy, for proof. Some love the Bon Scott years (there’s a statue of the larrikin singer in Freemantle, WA), others have grown up with Brian Johnson’s Little Richard screech (Bon admired Brian) but in the end it simply does not matter. AC/DC are rock ’n’ roll writ large.
