Born in Ottawa in 1974, Alanis Morissette began her career in music as a child, appearing on Canadian television shows and releasing her first album, Alanis, at the age of 18. In 1995 her third album, Jagged Little Pill quickly became a commercial and critical success. How successful was it? Mega! Jagged Little Pill has been certified 16 times platinum in the United States and has sold over 33 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time. The album features hits such as "You Oughta Know," "Ironic," and "Hand in My Pocket," and earned Morissette four Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

Since then Morissette has continued to tour and record music, releasing numerous albums including So-called Chaos (2004) and The Storm Before The Calm in 2022. In addition to her music career, she has also acted in several films and television shows, including "Dogma," "Nip/Tuck," and "Weeds."

Morissette’s style has been described as confessional and introspective, often exploring themes of relationships, heartbreak, and empowerment. She is considered one of the most influential female artists of her generation and has inspired countless musicians and fans with her powerful voice and honest lyrics.
