Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Combining the prodigious talents of David Crosby (The Byrds), Stephen Stills (Buffalo Springfield) and Graham Nash (The Hollies), CSN formed in 1968, releasing their gloriously melodic self-titled debut in 1969. They then famously added Neil Young (CSN&Y), playing the Woodstock Festival as their second gig. The quartet’s first studio album, Déjà Vu, is a seventies classic and a high point of American folk-rock. They toured this album, recording acoustic and electric sets to produce the live album Four Way Street (now available in an expanded edition).

Various combinations of these four talented and fractious musicians have released albums periodically ever since. Not surprisingly, all have enjoyed significant solo careers, albeit none as prolific as that of Neil Young.
