Juice WRLD

The story of Juice Wrld, known to his mum as Jared Anthony Higgins, is a brief and unhappy one. Raised by a mother whose conservative religious values banned her son listening to rap music, Higgins nevertheless began creating his own music in high school. Alongside learning piano, guitar and drums, the teenager also picked up less healthy habits centred around drinking, smoking, and drug use.

After posting music on SoundCloud in 2015 (he was seventeen years old at the time) and getting positive responses, Higgins settled on the stage name Juice WRLD and released his first major label album in 2018. Death Race For Love followed in 2019 and debuted on the American charts at #1. Late that year, however, the young musician’s struggles with substance abuse reached a tragic end when he died from a drug overdose. In mid-2020 his estate announced the release of Legends Never Die, a posthumous release which also made its chart debut at#1 in the USA, UK, Australia and other countries.
