Rossington Collins Band

The Rossington Collins Band was a southern rock band formed in the late 1970s by former members of Lynyrd Skynyrd. The band was named after guitarists Allen Collins and Gary Rossington, who were both founding members of Lynyrd Skynyrd.

After the tragic plane crash in 1977 that claimed the lives of several members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Collins and Rossington decided to form a new band. They recruited several other former Skynyrd members, including keyboardist Billy Powell and bassist Leon Wilkeson, and began recording their debut album, "Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere."

The album was released in 1980 and received positive reviews, with many critics praising the band's tight musicianship and catchy songwriting. The lead single, "Don't Misunderstand Me," became a minor hit on rock radio and helped the album reach the top 20 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Unfortunately, the success of the Rossington Collins Band was short-lived. In 1982, the band disbanded after conflicts between the members and struggles with substance abuse. Despite this, the band's legacy as one of the few successful offshoots of Lynyrd Skynyrd has endured, and their music continues to be appreciated by fans of southern rock and classic rock.
