Ryan Adams left alt-country rockers Whiskeytown in 2000 to pursue a solo career. With over two dozen albums released since the turn of the milleniium, this is widely considered to have been a highly successful move.

Born in Jacksonville, North Carolina, in 1974, Adams began playing guitar at an early age and was influenced by a wide range of artists, including Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, and Johnny Cash. From the time of Heartbreaker, his debut solo album, the singer/songwriter has not faltered. His critically acclaimed albums include Gold, Love Is Hell, and Easy Tiger. Adams is known for his introspective and deeply personal lyrics, as well as his soulful voice and impressive guitar skills.

In addition to his own extensive catalogue, Adams has also produced albums for artists including Willie Nelson and Jenny Lewis and has collaborated with a number of other musicians, including Norah Jones and Elton John.
