Suzi Quatro

Suzi Quatro

Born in the Motor City (that’s Detroit, Michigan), Suzi Quatro began her musical career at a very young age, adding percussion to her father’s jazz band. In the Sixties she formed a girl group with two of her sisters, a stepping stone on her way to a successful pop/rock career after moving to the UK in 1971. It was an odd paradox: Suzi and her band dressed tough—leather for her and singlets for the brooding band—while the music was pure glam rock. "Can the Can", "48 Crash", "Your Mama Won’t Like Me" were hits that had you bopping up and down even if you were sitting still.

Quatro released more than a dozen albums and toured frequently (releasing a live double recorded in Japan) while also pursuing an acting career. (She made cameo appearances in much loved British TV series Minder and in the iconic American show Happy Days.) Suzi Quatro’s hits continue to radiate an infectious beat and brash energy.
