Swans

Swans is an American experimental rock band formed in 1982 by Michael Gira. Over their storied career, the band has undergone numerous lineup changes and stylistic shifts while consistently pushing the boundaries of sound and emotion.

Swans' early work was characterized by a harsh and punishing sound, often associated with the "No Wave" movement of the 1980s. Albums like "Filth" and "Cop" were uncompromising in their brutality, incorporating pounding rhythms, dissonant guitars, and Gira's distinctive, confrontational vocals.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Swans underwent a transformation, incorporating elements of folk, world music, and acoustic instrumentation. Albums like "The Burning World" and "White Light from the Mouth of Infinity" showcased a more melodic and atmospheric side of the band.
