The Moody Blues

Lush, melodic, and boasting five songwriters, the Moody Blues are often looked down upon by critics. This is, to be blunt, totally unfair as the British band were both innovative and influential through an amazing run of 60s and 70s albums. So much more than simply the creators of “Nights in White Satin”, the Moodies were in the vanguard of artists incorporating synthesisers (they loaned their mellotron to The Beatles) and are rightly credited with being at the leading edge of art rock and progressive rock. The 1967 LP, Days Of Future Passed (containing the timeless single) was followed by no less than five quality LPs and then an 80s renaissance.

Versions of the band have continued into the 21st century; they must have known something when they called their 1969 album To Our Children’s Children’s Children.
