Yard Act

Yard Act is a British post-punk band that burst onto the music scene with a refreshing and sharp-edged sound. Formed in Leeds in 2020, the group consists of James Smith on vocals and guitar and Ryan Needham on drums. Yard Act quickly gained attention for their distinctive blend of post-punk and spoken-word lyricism.

Their debut single, "Fixer Upper," released in early 2021, showcased their knack for combining socially observant and often darkly humorous lyrics with driving, infectious rhythms. The song's commentary on gentrification and urban decay resonated with many listeners.

The band's music is characterized by its raw energy and Smith's poetic, observational storytelling, drawing comparisons to bands like The Fall and Sleaford Mods. Yard Act's unapologetically British perspective and wry social commentary make them a compelling addition to the contemporary music landscape.

With their debut album "The Overload" released in 2022, Yard Act continues to build a following and establish themselves as an exciting voice in the world of post-punk music.
