Vinyl is ltd colored vinyl. Ggu:ll the vessel of the lost. A means of staring into the empty sockets of suffering. Enduring the lack of meaning and ground. Enduring defeat and loss. Riffs are very basic yet eloquent and add plots and nuances to the great narratives the drums and bass dictate. Ggu:ll is a four-piece blackened doom metal band from Tilburg, The Netherlands. Since 2009, they have meandered a stoic path through the pitch black music landscape. Pulling influences from noise, doom and atmospheric drones, they build a steady live reputation, leading to shows at Roadburn, Le guess who?, Neurotic Deathfest, Archerontic Arts and Soul Crusher. This exploration of slow and intense music, resulted in their debut record 'Dwaling', released by V?n Records in 2016. The album gained international recognition and press coverage and they shared the stage with bands like Bongripper, Primitive Man and Inter Arma. For their new record 'Ex Est', Ggu:ll extracted the coldness of black metal and added that into the mix doom and noise. In seven tracks, they present a wide spectrum of heavy music. Shifting from blackened doom, to heavy psychedelica back to noise infused torture drones. The album title 'Ex Est' refers to the state after being. The realization that all that is, will someday not be. All is doomed to end up as a ruin of itself. Herein lies the search for meaning in existence, despite the realization that life itself is meaningless. "... because listening to their vast and devastating debut album it's easy to imagine unruly, elemental forces squirming just beyond its borders, pressing against the panes of consciousness. Part funereal, dread-induced catharsis, part Cult Of Luna-style post-metal pilgrimage, Dwaling is a journey into their own, cavernous heart of darkness. Many of the riffs throughout these six elongated tracks taking on a sickening, radioactive glow, as though they're luminous portals to realms best left undisturbed." - Metal Hammer UK.
