Curated exclusively for Record Store Day 2026 Sub Pop and The Gits present Etcetera a thirteen song collection of unreleased material by Mia Zapata and The Gits. This limited edition LP features live tour recordings rare solo performances by Mia Zapata - including covers of Bessie Smith Iggy & The Stooges and even James Taylor. Etcetera is the definitive Gits collectors piece hand selected by the band from their personal vault. The Gits formed in 1986 at Antioch College in Ohio and moved together to Seattle in 1989 as the world was taking notice of the burgeoning scene there. Although their raucous blues-infused punk powered by Mia's indelible vocals didn't quite fit the mold being cast by their Pacific Northwest peers The Gits quickly found a tight foothold and built a strong following. Tragically Mia Zapata was murdered in July of 1993 just having returned to Seattle from a successful west coast tour and while The Gits were recording their second studio album. Enter: The Conquering Chicken which was eventually released on C/Z Records the following year. In addition to the unusual cover songs and Mia Zapata solo performances on Etcetera this new album also includes live versions of recognizable Gits songs recorded when the band was at their finest.
