Title: | Pink Floyd The Wall |
Pink Floyd's "The Wall" is a concept album released in 1979 that tells the story of a fictional rock star named Pink, who is struggling with personal demons and isolation. The album's themes touch on topics such as war, fascism, and the impact of fame on personal identity, making it a highly introspective and thought-provoking work.
The album features a mix of progressive rock, hard rock, and psychedelic sounds, with complex instrumentation and layered arrangements that reflect the band's technical skill and creativity. From the opening track "In the Flesh?" to the iconic finale "Outside the Wall," the album takes listeners on a journey that is both musically and emotionally immersive.
The album's narrative is also accompanied by a highly conceptual stage show and a feature film, which help to bring the story of Pink to life in a visceral way. The imagery used in these productions, such as the famous wall that is built during the show, has become iconic in its own right, further cementing the album's cultural impact.
"The Wall" has been praised for its innovation, artistic vision, and willingness to tackle complex and challenging themes. Its enduring popularity is a testament to the enduring power of Pink Floyd's music, as well as the universal themes of isolation, trauma, and identity that the album explores.

Pink Floyd The Wall.
By: Steve Warburton on 14 October 2021I have Pink Floyd's Dark Side, Wish you were here, Animals, Meddle etc on original vinyl, but I hadn't bought The Wall on vinyl when it first came out because my brother got it first. So I bought it on CD. As I'm getting a new turntable, I thought it was time to get it for the collection. Dealing with Discrepancy was brilliant. Great price, Easy to order and pay for and postage was quick and well wrapped. They are now my go-to for vinyl listening. Thank you.

Variety of opinions
By: Allan on 17 May 2021Music tastes are really odd and very individual. This is some people's favourite Pink Floyd album, but it is not in my top ten Floyd records. I think the lyrics get bogged in Roger Water's neuroses and I never liked the single. Thank heavens for 'Wish you were here', 'Meddle', and even the angry, edgy 'Animals'. PS. If there is anyone like me who doesn't like being a brick in the wall, try Water's solo version 'The Wall Live In Berlin'. The guest artists make it SO much more interesting.
