Guru what? Following the release of their acclaimed 2nd album 'Point Fingers' & EP 'it's a (doggy dog) world' the band is ready to release their 3rd album 'Make (Less) Babies'. A new batch of songs that wriggle themselves into your ears. The Guru Guru's latest avant-garde offering was recorded and fully self-produced, with the mixing duties completed by the band's very own Emiel Van Den Abbeele The Guru Guru has been happily dealing in deep express art rock since 2012, combining feverishly angular guitars with off-kilter, poly-rhythms all complimented by erratic and unhinged vocals. While influences are drawn from the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead, The Mars Volta, Soulwax, The Jesus Lizard & Andy Kaufman, the indie-math- psycho-noise rulebook is torn apart, resulting in erratic songs that somehow seem to develop into wriggling earworms. With their 3rd full album 'Make (Less) Babies', The Guru Guru took matters into their own hands and they did the full production of the album themselves, from recording to mixing. No compromises, no one looking over their shoulders, they could just do their own thing. Having learned a lot from previous albums with Wouter Vlaeminck as producer (Raketkanon, Kapitan Korsakov, etc.), and the recent EP, they wrote, composed, rehearsed, recorded, produced and mixed everything themselves. Straight from the heart. They recorded everything live in the studio, with no instrument overdubs. What you hear is what you get. They took their energy and sound they have live on stage onto this album to make it more natural and organically sounding. This is what The Guru Guru sounds like anno 2023. Two guitars, one bass, a drumkit, a backing vocal and a lead vocal.
