Aphrodite's Child

Aphrodite's Child

Hailing from Greece, Aphrodite's Child combined psychedelic and progressive rock influences into a unique sound. The band featured the distinctive vocals of Demis Roussos (who sold over 60 million records as a solo artist in the 70s), and the keyboard magic of Vangelis Pappathanassiou (he later dropped the polysylabic surname and made film soundtracks such as Chariots of Fire and Bladerunner).

Aphrodite’s Child are highly regarded by fans of the evolution of progressive rock, primarily for their epic double album 666, released in 1971.
