News Catch-up RSD Black Friday edition

Welcome back everyone. It feels like a hot minute since we were last here, but we promise it was worth the wait as we take a look at some of the absolutely delicious releases that will be hitting our shelves this Record Store Day: Black Friday on November 24th!

The Doors Live In Bakersfield is a double LP containing a performance recorded on August 21st 1970. The performance in question presents the band at the absolute top of their game. They had been performing live for five years at this point and their talents were well-honed. Subsequently, Live In Bakersfield features The Doors experimenting with their most beloved songs in real time. As well as some improvisations, they made a medley by combining some of their hits like Alabama Song, Back Door Man and Five To One.

Also included is Someday Soon, a track which was only ever recorded live. This is the first official release of the Live In Bakersfield performance, and this special RSD edition will be pressed on beautiful orange vinyl.

The album will also see a special CD release, complete with booklet containing liner notes on the performance.

There will be another live album featuring a classic rock band releasing this RSD Black Friday: Grateful Dead Fillmore West San Francisco 1969.

This 5 LP set contains the legendary performances recorded at the Fillmore West between February and March in 1969. These live sets were notable for showcasing Grateful Dead at the peak of their talents as they experimented with their usual psychedelic sound and even embraced R&B. All the tracks have been remixed and remastered from the original 16-track soundboard tapes.

Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy was the 7th studio album by metal musician (and horror movie legend) Rob Zombie. Released in 2021, the album gained positive reviews and was even the 1st of Zombie's to reach No.1 on the Billboard charts.

Now, a very special picture disc edition will be releasing for RSD Black Friday, complete with a psychedelic cartoon image of Zombie himself adorned with a thorny crown and surrounded by cosmic ghouls. Bless.

Motely Crue's 1984 album Shout At The Devil is getting a truncated release as a special 12'' EP featuring the tracks Too Young To Fall In Love, Knock 'Em Dead Kid, and Take Me To The Top. The disc will also be pressed on a special orange & black vinyl.

Prince (and The New Power Generation) will also be present for this RSD Black Friday with a special one-sided 12'' single of the 1991 track, Gett Off.

This release faithfully re-creates the original promo 12” single of Gett Off, that served as an introduction to The New Power Generation. The release contians the “damn near 10 min” mix of the song on one side with a blank flip side.
