Chillwave

Chillwave is said to have originated in the late 2000s and the term was first used in 2009 by a blogger Hipster Runoff who used it to describe artists whose sounds resembled incidental music from 1980s VHS tapes. Chillwave also gave birth to a popular sub genre called Vaporwave that is popular on the internet. The sound is often described as a loose emulation of 1980s electro pop and attempts to trigger nostalgia with familiar cuts from popular 80s songs.

If you want to chill and ride the wave then Chillwave is for you!
